Make a gentle plan for sorting your photos
Written for adults 55+ and everyday beginners. No AI experience needed.
You do not have to sort every photo at once. Ask for a plan using general folder names and choose a small group to start with.
Start here
- Make a backup using a method you know before moving or deleting anything.
- Describe the broad groups you have, such as holidays, pets, and old scans. Do not share private images.
- Try the plan on a small group first. Keep an unsure pile instead of rushing to delete.
Three prompts you can use
Copy a prompt into your chat tool and replace the [blanks]. Check each reply before using it.
1. Make a first draft
Help plan short sessions for sorting photos. My broad groups are [groups]. I can spend [time] per session. Suggest simple album names and a first small task. Do not ask for photos or suggest automatic deletion.
2. Make it fit your life
Make the plan gentler. Start with [small group]. Use three piles: keep, review later, and possible duplicate. Do not assume similar photos are exact copies.
3. Check before you use it
Give me a checklist before I move any photos: backup, file names, where copies are saved, and how to check I can still open them. Keep it simple and do not give risky delete commands.
Mistake most beginners make
Deleting the originals before checking that a backup really opens.
One last check
This is a sorting plan, not a tool that changes your photo library. Use your usual photo app and get trusted help if you are unsure about backups.
